Facilities
Laboratory—Our 725 sq. ft. laboratory located in room
E117 on the first floor of the Science
Building.
The laboratory
is fully equipped for microbial and molecular biological
research. Each lab bench (6) is fully equipped with vortexers,
dry baths with heating blocks, pipets (manual and auto) and
mini-centrifuges.
Major equipment includes two -20C freezers, a -80C ultrafreezer,
four 4C refrigerators, five
incubators (25C, 30C, two 37C and 42C), two incubating, shaking 96-well
microplate spectrophotmeter, a NanoPhotometer, a UV/VIS
spectrophotometer, bench top low- and high-speed centrifuges, four
platform shakers, a colony counter, a
phase-contrast
microscopes, an inverted phase-contrast microscope, a Veriti PCR
thermal cycler, electrophoresis equipment, two gel documentation
systems,
a
microscope mounted perfusion chamber and associated temperature control
equipment, and two waterbaths.
Department Core
